Knowledge Base

What is On-Grid?

An on-grid (grid-tied) system connects to the utility. Solar powers your load first; surplus is exported for credits. No battery is required; backup requires a hybrid/inverter with storage.

What is Off-Grid?

Fully independent from the grid. Solar charges batteries via a charge controller; an off-grid inverter powers loads. Ideal for remote locations and critical backup.

What is Hybrid?

Combines grid-tie with battery backup. Prioritizes solar, stores excess in batteries, exports to grid, and provides power during outages.

What is a Charge Controller?

Electronics that manage solar-to-battery charging. MPPT types maximize power harvest and protect batteries from over/under-charging.
